Size your installation
The choice comes down to two figures: the power your site draws at peak, and how long that peak lasts. Everything else follows.

Record the power peak
It is the highest power your site draws, measured over a short interval. It reads off your load curve or your network bills. It is what determines the battery's power rating.

Measure how long the peak lasts
A ten-minute peak and a two-hour peak do not call for the same capacity. Duration multiplied by power gives the energy to store, and therefore the number of cabinets.

Say what the battery must do
Shave, consume your own generation, arbitrage the price, run without the grid, feed a charger: each use changes the sizing, and several uses can be combined on the same equipment.

Give the country of installation
It determines transport, documents, peak billing rules and the language of the answer. It is the first thing asked on a quote request.

Describe the site
The intended location, access for delivery, the nature of the ground and the distance to the electrical switchboard. A Mercury 233 cabinet weighs up to 2800 kg: the slab and the access are checked before the order, not after.

How many cabinets
One cabinet, then two, then twenty
The Mercury 261 and 418 can be combined. The manufacturer publishes scalability up to 5.22 MWh for the 261 and 8.36 MWh for the 418, across twenty units. Sizing is therefore not limited to one model: it is expressed in numbers of cabinets, and it can be done in stages.
