A DC charger demands instantaneous power from the site’s connection that the contracted capacity does not always cover. Upgrading the connection is expensive and slow. A battery placed between the grid and the charger absorbs the demand, recharges when the site is quiet, and the capacity bill does not move.
Stellabox sells the charger. EV charging infrastructure means the complete installation: the charger, but also the dedicated cabling, the protection devices, the metering and the supervision. Installation, connection and compliance are the responsibility of the site’s installer.
